We always love to celebrate celebrity
birthdays don’t we? And yes it’s double joy when we find out it’s more
than just one popular personality adding another year to their age!
September 28 is one of those special days – with four great achievers celebrating.
David Oyedepo (founder and presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church World Wide also known as Winners Chapel), New Orleans rapper Lil’ Wayne, Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne and Internet-related products and servicing multinational company Google all marked their birthdays yesterday.
Oyedepo who turned 58 is one of
Nigeria’s most successful evangelists, with millions of followers across
the world. His Living Faith ministry has interests in education,
publishing, media and real estate. Controversial because of his
flambouyant lifestyle, he was in the news for the wrong reasons recently
when he faced a N2bn lawsuit for slapping church member. The father of
four however beat the case as the court dismissed it over ‘‘lack of
merit’.
Lil’ Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) who turned 30 released his ‘Dedication 4‘ mixtape on September 3, 2012. He also has four children.
Rock star Avril Lavinge who broke into
the music scene 10 years ago turned 28 yesterday. In August,
she announced her engagement to Chad Kroeger, front-man of the band Nickelback after they began dating in February 2012.
Google was incorporated as a privately
held company in 1998, and its initial public offering followed in 2004.
As of September, web traffic reporting company Alexa ranks Google as the
number one visited website in the world.
