One of Nigeria’s biggest Nollywood stars, Genevieve Nnaji actress Genevieve Nnaji turns 33 today, May 3, 2012.
The actress was bombarded with greetings
and birthday wishes from her numerous fans and followers on
micro-blogging website Twitter and Genny didn’t waste any time showing
appreciation for the goodwill messages.
‘Wow..u guys r amazing!! I don’t
know what the difference is this year but I can truly feel the love in
ur hearts. I feel so blessed. Thank you’, @GenevieveNnaji1tweeted
‘This moment; the love,attention and
appreciation you’ve all shown me is the best gift I could ever ask for.

Last year Genevieve celebrated her birthday at Bungalow 8 in London with friends including Nigerian pop star D’banj who she was rumoured to have been dating.
Nnaji started her acting career at the early of eight as a kid actor in the popular TV series – ‘Ripples’. In 1998, she made her Nollywood debut in ‘Most Wanted’.
Referred to as the ‘Julia Roberts of Africa’ by CNN,
the name ‘Genevieve’ over the years has turned into a household name as
she has appeared in over 120 movies including the award winning
international film ‘Mirror Boy’.
With her eyes firmly on Hollywood,
Genevieve’s international profile continues to rise; and just last week,
it was announced that she will act alongside Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the movie adaptation of ‘Half of a yellow sun’
She has beagged numerous awards including ‘Best Actress of the Year Award’ at the 2001 City People Awards and the ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role award’ at the 2005 African Movie Academy Awards.
Known for her trademark smile, the charming mother-of-one is still unmarried.
