On Monday, January 25, Boko Haram terrorists reportedly attacked a group of firewood traders in Jawu village, about 8 kilometres from Auno town, west of Maiduguri.
Eight people managed to escape, while seven others are still missing after the attack.
The Nigeria army killed 14 Boko Haram insurgents and captured two others around Chirokusko Village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area in Yobe state on Monday.
General Commanding Officer, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Aliyu, made this disclosure in Damaturu, saying that 16 assorted weapons and ammunitions had also been recovered from the insurgents.

Four suicide bombers affiliated with the Boko Haram sect attacked a village in Cameroon’s Far North region on Monday, killing at least 25 people.

The insurgents on Monday also stormed six villages in Girei local government area of Adamawa state, killing at least 15 people and razing 6 villages.
After the raid six villages including Koh, Demsare, Tabongo, Fawure, Noyine and Ndikajam were totally razed by the terrorists.
On Wednesday, January 27, no fewer than 10 people were confirmed dead while 30 others injured following triple explosions that rocked Chibok town of Borno state.
According to Ayuba Chibok who spoke with AFP on Wednesday, said the three bombers blew themselves up on a market day.
On Thursday, January 28, four people were killed and a dozen others woundedwhen two suicide bombers set off twin bombs in the town of Kerawa, northern Cameroon.
Local officials reported that there was no immediate claim of responsibility but Boko Haram militants who have carried out strings of suicide bombings in northern Cameroon are blamed for the recent attacks.
On Friday, January 29, a suicide bomber suspected to be the member of the Boko Haram sect detonated a suicide vest at a crowded market in Gombi town in Adamawa state. A security official in Gombi said a teen about 12 years old was suspected of having led the attack.
According to reports that a vigilante leader confirmed the incident saying that 20 people including the bomber died in the explosion.
Colonel Rabe Abubakar has warned Nigerians of new Boko Haram tactics.
During the course of the week, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) warned Nigeriansthat Boko Haram terrorists are now using a new tactic in launching successful suicide bombings in the country.
According to a statement made by Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, the DHQ spokesperson, on Saturday, January 30, the militants have now switched to disguising as mad people to infiltrate locations.
Meanwhile, Kabiru Umar, a convicted kingpin of the Islamist terrorists, Boko Haram, filed a suit against the federal government.
The suit against the federal government by the convict popularly referred to as Kabiru Sokoto will be presented before the Abuja division of the Federal High Court on February 4, 2016 for hearing.
In a related development, the officers of the 19 Battalion of Nigerian army arrested a man suspected to be a Boko Haram fighter in Sapele, Delta state.
Bukar Abacha, the middle-aged man, was apprehended shortly after he arrived the popular Hausa quarters in Sapele.
So far the Nigerian Air Force has conducted 286 air operations on Boko Haram targets in the last one month.
The Deputy Theatre Commander (Air) of the counter-insurgency operation in the North-East (Operation Lafiya Dole), Air Vice Marshall Isiaka Amao addressing a press conference in Maidugurisaid said the air component of the counter-insurgency operation has conducted 286 “operational sorties” against Boko Haram terrorists targets from December 25, 2015 till date.
