Popular music label, Kennis Music says it’s planning to sign a second American artiste.
The label is looking to add producer/artiste H.A.K to its’ crew, after recently signing B Howard.
Kennis Music C.E.O, Kenny Ogungbe,
during an interview with our correspondent, expressed his excitement
over Howard’s signing, adding that it has been in the works for a long
time, but was finalised a month ago.
He further revealed that the deal is an
indefinite one, and will expire when both parties agree, a strategy
which, according to him, will help curb negative speculations as
experienced with previous artistes. Howard B, he says, will record,
produce and feature with other Kennis music acts while his deal with the
label is active.
Explaining the label’s decision, he said ‘Over
the years, we have promoted foreign artistes and we just thought that
with our leading position in the industry, we don’t like to make noise
anymore, we like our works to make the noise for us and Howard B is a
big fish, a multi platinum producer in the US market.’
Ogungbe says plans are in place to bring on board American artiste, Hussain Abdullah Karim, otherwise known as H.A.K, adding that he was on the production team for Capital F.E.M.I and Joe-El’s albums.
The music label, owned by Kenny Ogungbe,
has been instrumental to the success of some of Nigeria’s most
remarkable pop stars, including The Remedies, Paul IK Dairo, 2face Idibia, Tony Tetuila, Eedris Abdul Kareem, Wale Thompson and presently, Goldie, Jaywon, Capital F.E.M.I, K.S.B and others.
