There might still be hope for talented
but troubled musician Majekodunmi Fashekun, aka Majek Fashek as he has
signed a new record deal.
Courtesy record company A Plus Entertainment,
Fashek will try to find his way back to the path of his glory days. The
record company is reported to have handed the veteran reggae artiste a
two-year recording, promotion and management contract.
The deal is said to be worth quite a healthy sum of Naira and will include tours in Italy, Spain, Canada and the USA.
‘What he needs is rehabilitation and
a strong pillar of support, not hisses or rejection. We cannot close
our eyes and fold our arms and watch him waste away all that musical
talent just because some people have chosen to label him a fading star.
No. At A-Plus, we care and recognise a living legend when we see one and
Majek Fashek still has so much in him to contribute to uplift Nigerian
music and the entertainment world in general’, Hajia Oluremi Dangali, C.E.O of A Plus Entertainment explains.
Fashek’s career over the last decade has
been plagued with trouble; with the great music-maker heavily affected
by alcohol addiction.
