The death of a 42-year-old man in Ondo state, has become a mystery, one which the state police is still trying to unravel.
Femi Joseph, the state’s police spokesman, confirmed that a certain Ayo Boye, was found dead dangling on a tree behind a block firm in the Adofure area of the capital, Akure.
The police imagemaker informed that Boye’s wife and relatives had been briefed of the ugly incident.
He also noted that the police found “a Nokia handset and a sum of N2,500 on him, we found a Bible on him, but we are not certain that he came to worship at the prayer centre.”
The owner of the block firm who only identified himself as Olanrewaju, said his workers alerted him of the incident through a telephone call on Wednesday, February 3.
He stated that on getting to his office, he also saw the lifeless body dangling from the tree.
“We immediately reported the incident at a police station,” Olarenwaju said.
The Punch reports that the deceased came from Abuja to Akure to attend a church service at a popular prayer centre in the area .
Pastor Samson Oluwamodede, the owner of the prayer centre, however, denied knowing anything about the incident.
Oluwamodede said: “There are many people that worship in my church; there is no way I can recognise everybody.”
