The Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee (NWC) has shifted the meetings of key statutory organs of the party by one week.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the shift of date was contained in a statement signed by PDP national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh, on Monday, February 8, in Abuja, was in view of requests by critical, stakeholders and leaders of the party.
The statement reads: “In the new schedule, the meeting of the National Caucus of the party has been shifted from Feb. 9 to Feb. 15, at 7p.m.
“In the same vein, the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) will now hold in the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 16.
“the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting would also hold on Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.
“The NWC deeply regrets any inconveniences that may be caused by this shift in dates.”
Recall that the Board of Trustees (BoT) of PDP had summoned an emergency meeting to hold next Monday, February 8, to resolve who its national chairman becomes.
The secretary to the BoT, Senator Walid Jibrin said this describing as very disappointing and embarrassing the inability of the northeast zone of the party to present someone for the chairmanship position.
Meanwhile, Ken Nnamani, a former Senate president had left the PDP citing that the party had derailed from the vision it once had and that he does not foresee any change in the party’s operation in the near future.
The former lawmaker added he was leaving PDP because the party was following a different path and status.
