Former Super Eagles attacker Nwankwo Kanu has been named one of the greatest footballers ever by the FIFA supported International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Other Africans included in the list includes former World player of the year George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe.
The list of 48 legends is the first of a series of list which will be subsequently released.

Other legends included in the list are Pele, Zico, Luis Figo, David Beckham and José Luis Félix Chilavert.
Kanu played for the likes of Inter Milan, Arsenal and Ajax during his illustrious career winning a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals.
He is also a two-time African footballer of the year award winner.
