Late Olubadan to get state burial on February 12

Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Governor of Oyo State,  has announced that the burial rites for the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, will begin on February 6, while his remains would be interred on February 12, in Ibadan, the state capital.

The governor, who disclosed this during a condolence visit to the Monatan, Ibadan, residence of the deceased, on Friday, said President Muhammad Buhari will be expected to lead other dignitaries to the city for the burial ceremonies.

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade, died in his sleep about 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in his palace in Monatan, Ibadan.

The respected monarch became Olubadan in 2007. He was the 17thOlubadan since the title was elevated from Baale Ibadan to the Olubadan in 1930.
