Ibrahim Magu, the chairman of the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, January 19, has given
the assurance that the commission will adhere to court orders.
He added that the war against graft was not about him or the EFCC but about all Nigerians who want to see Nigeria move forward.
Magu made this assertion at a media briefing in Abuja saying that the anti-graft body has no reason to disobey courts, Leadership reports.
The EFCC boss stressed that the need to make this clarification became necessary following consistent criticism from prominent members of society who accused the commission of disobeying court orders.

Magu said: “We have never had any course to disobey any court order and we will not disobey any. It is not about me, it is about the desire to move this country forward.”
A particular case that irked some lawyers was the re-arresting of the former national security adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), the director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Patrick Akpobolokemi and Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra immediately after the men were granted bail.
Meanwhile, some youths under the aegis of the Coalition of Civil Society Groups are not happy with President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged refusal to obey court orders.
The youths protested at the Lagos state House of Assembly to register their displeasure, demanding that the president be impeached by the National Assembly if he refused to change.
