Rick Ross is a free man. TMZ reports that the MMG head honcho was released from jail after he paid his $2 million bail. He used a couple of collateral to cover the bill: $1 million equity from the ex-Holyfield mansion he owns, and another GA property, $500,000 surety bond (from a bail bondsman) and $500k in cold hard cash. He will also turn over the entire
Holyfield property to the county if he intimidates or threatens any witnesses. Ross will also have to wear an ankle monitor.
According to reports from previous TMZ and FOX CAROLINA reports, a weary Rozay appeared in Fayette County Superior Court this morning (July 1) after sitting in jail for seven
days. He was initially denied bond on June 24. The new report says Ross’ lawyer requested that his client’s medical files be sealed for reasons unknown at this time. Judge Tommy
Hankinson deliberated Ross’ situation because the MC faces serious charges—namely kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Ross will appear in court next Tuesday, July 7 where bond will be discussed. Ross’ Defense attorney, Adamma A. McKinnon, Esq., spoke to XXL and gave us an update on what’s happening
next. “We are working effortlessly and respectfully to adhere to all the conditions provided by the court.”
Ross and his bodyguard were ARRESTED on June 24 for kidnapping, aggravated assault an aggravated battery charges in Fayette County, Georgia after the two allegedly pistol-whipped a groundskeeper who was working on his home. According to
reports, the Florida rapper was having work done on his Fayette County home when he got into an altercation with one of the groundskeepers. The altercation allegedly was sparked because the groundskeeper—who lives on the property—had people over for his birthday in Ross’ house without permission the night before.
Rozay allegedly held the man in a room in his guest house then proceeded to pistol-whip the man so hard that he broke his jaw and chipped two of his teeth. The alleged victim is said to be on a liquid diet due to the sustained injuries. The incident happened on June 7 and he was arrested on 17 days later. The arrest was the second for the rapper in June. On June 10, Ross was pulled over in his Bentley for having his windows tinted to an illegal degree. When officers approached the vehicle and Ross rolled down the window, the cops smelled weed and proceeded to search the car. After finding some bud, Rozay was whisked away to jail on a traffic violation and misdemeanor
possession of marijuana. He was released from the jail later that
evening.
