DK-Disciple Kputu aka Joshua Terngu
Kputu, the 13th Disciple of the Lord (Jesus Christ) was born into
the tribe Tiv. He was born January 28th,
1973 in the town of Gboko (Benue State) of Nigeria. He was inspired to use his
talents to serve God and to reach
others through his spiritual songs. Disciple Kputu began performing Gospel
music December 1999 after completing his education with an ND in Computer
Science. Nigeria is a multicultural country with more than 350 ethnic groups
and is blessed with many human and natural resources and traditions.
The Tiv race (of Benue State, the
“Food Basket State”) has the best musical culture in the whole federation of
Nigeria. Disciple Kputu comes from a compound (polygamous) family-part of the
Nigeria culture. From his Tiv parents, he has six brothers, two step sisters,
one step brother, many first cousins, uncles, aunties, relations and more. He
lost his father at the age of 15, and was adopted as a son by his uncle, Wantaregh Paul Unongo from a childhood,
(whom also WILL his Lagos house to D.K. as an inheritance) DK now a house owner
(landlord with tenants in Lagos. An
investment – business - is music. He was dedicated to God from childhood by
his loving mother.
His boyhood dream was to become a
pilot or a musician, and DK thanks God for making one of those dreams a
reality. He is a former film show boy-Manager, a real Nigeria model-Afro
hip-hop gospel artist. He is born poet lyricist and dancer. DK comes from a
family of musicians and likes making songs. His future dream is to act in
gospel movies and to own an afro fabric designer outfit.
He is currently a member of Living Waters Unlimited Church 1,
Apostolic Faith, Camp Road, Anthony Village in Lagos (Overseer by Rev. Ladi Thompson). Now living in Lagos, DK enjoys
eating pounded yams with vegetable soup-a Tiv traditional delicacy. He likes to
occasionally wear the traditional black and white stripe cloth called Angegh
(meaning “light in the darkness”). He has released ten songs from his old
project “Beware … mark of the Beast”. He is out with his latest release single,
“Apocalypse” from his second album. He is looking for marketers.
He has enjoyed a lot of National Publicity. His
single, “Devil Cantonment” was inspired by the Ikeja bomb blast of January 27th,
2002, the New York terrorist
attack of September 11th,
2001 and the massacre of Tiv people in the Zaki-Biam region of the Benue State
by Nigerian soldiers. DK sees these and other killing around the world as the
‘Devil cantonment’- the devil’s plot to destroy the nature of God using human
beings (especially leaders) and to win a lot souls for himself, DK wants to
spread the word that the only way out is to embrace Jesus Christ. Go out and
get “Beware … mark of the Beast” and his new singles, “Apocalypse” from his new
projects titled “Jiga Money” and
other tracks like “Ayatutu”, “Babylon system”, “Corner Stone” and many more to
be release very soon. DK Disciple Kputu, aka the 13th Disciple of
