Joseph Kwaji, the police public relations officer of the command, revealed that the elderly woman was taken away by gunmen from the family home of the deputy governor at about 9pm on Monday, February 8.
Kwaji added that the whereabouts of the woman was not yet known because the abductors neither contacted members of the victim’s family nor communicated with anyone else.
The police officer noted that the command had deployed additional detectives in Gassol local government area of the state to assist in tracking and arresting the abductors.
Appealing to the public, Kwaji said that anyone who has useful information should contact the nearest police station and present it.
Confirming the incident, Alhaji Tukura Bashir, the chairman of the council, said that there was no communication from the abductors.
He revealed that one person was killed as the gunmen shot continuously to pave the way for their escape with their victim.

The aggrieved father said that the abductors had first picked up his 6-year-old daughter and his son from their Marafa estate residence, but later dropped off his daughter along Sultan road and went away with the son.
