Alhaji Suleiman Usman, Chairman of a Bauchi-based Non-Governmental organization, "Tamburan Fasaha" says his organization realized N1.3 million during a recent musical concert it organised to raise fund for IDPs in the state.
Usman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Sunday that the amount realized was meagre considering the over 2000 IDPs taking refuge in Bauchi state.
He however said that in spite of the meager amount realised, the organization was able to touch the lives of the displaced persons positively.
He said that association was liaising with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Nigeria Red Cross Society, to assess the needs of the IDPs.
He thanked Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of the state for providing the association with venue during the concert and urged him to continue encouraging the organization to embark on humanitarian activities.
The chairman also called on governors of the 19 northern States and prominent traditional rulers to support the organization.
