– Biafra as the passion of life
– Buhari’s testimony calling and soliciting that Palestinians should be granted freedom
– Why Biafrans should be achieved without violence
– Kanu won’t jump bail
Princess Chidinma Kanu, the sister of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu has granted interview to Somtochukwu Isaac and Ibeh Gift Amarachi of Family writers.
Her brother Kanu, who is also the director of Radio Biafra, was arrested by the State Security Service (DSS) in Lagos in October 2015 on conspiracy and terrorism charges that were later dropped.
Meanwhile, a day after the Abuja High Court ruled he should be released, officials filed new treasonable felony charges against him.
Later, the court denied Kanu bail as he failed to show that he would not continue to commit the alleged crime for which he was being prosecuted.
Pro-Biafrans have been holding several marches calling for the independence of the Biafran territories.
Kanu’s sister stated that Biafra is in the blood.
“You don’t just wake up and join a struggle. There must be the passion. My heart bleeds whenever I wake up and see underage Biafran children suffer in the street and do not have a choice; because they have to help their parents put food on the table. It hurts me a lot. The marginalization of Biafrans really hurts me,” she said.
Chidinma also speaks on labeling the agitation of Biafra a treasonable offence.
The sister of the Biafra leader added: “It is very funny. How can they charge him for treasonable offence? When under the international law and UN charter Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, did absolutely nothing. Nigeria is also a signatory to the UN charter.
“Everybody saw Muhammadu Buhari’s testimony calling and soliciting that Palestinians should be granted freedom. So why can’t same happen in Nigeria?

“Nnamdi Kanu went there with David Nwawuisi that was charged for treason as well. David Nwawuisi is a young engineer who was asked to mount transmitters and the mounting of transmitters was labeled a treasonable offence. But Boko Haram has been going around killing every day and the President of Nigeria has called for dialogue and wants to grant them amnesty. They are killing unarmed Biafrans who their only crime is calling for the release of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Very sad.”
On the right of Biafrans to be allowed to defend themselves from Nigeria force Kanu’s sister said: “In my opinion we should continue doing non-violence, but this is for me and I don’t know about the others. I don’t have the power to stop millions of IPOB members. According to the UN charter the Indigenous People of Biafra have the right to self-defence.
“But my piece of advice will be to follow and to adhere to the instructions of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In other to prove to the world that we are not terrorist, the more they are killing us, the more we are coming out.
“How many Biafrans will the Nigeria government kill? I am calling on the United Nations, Amnesty International, world leaders, human right activist all over the world, men and women of good conscience, to come to the rescue of Biafrans because the Nigeria military want to terminate Biafrans from the surface of the earth. The genocide that happened in 1967-1970 is repeating itself again and I believe that Eze Chukwu Okike Abiama will never abandon us.”
Chidinma also alleged that Buhari led Nigeria to anarchy: “Buhari disobeying court order has led the already corrupt system of Nigeria to anarchy and if they arrest anyone tomorrow, that person will disobey court orders, because Buhari is not living by example.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is an international man, why will he jump bail? Of course, you can always find him. You can send for him in Britain, after all Britain is in support of Nigeria amalgamation, so he doesn’t have any reason to jump bail and they don’t have any case against him. I am asking that the judiciary of Nigeria will for once, say no to injustice and the unlawful incarceration of my brother, because his human right has been violated.”
